A Jiapu is a family history book. It holds historical and family tree records for a family. In this kind of record only the particular family’s pedigree is shown to the exclusion of others who are not directly related.
A Zupu is a clan genealogy record. It holds a broader list of documents and family tree records pertaining to the clan living in the village. In this kind of record there is no single family pedigree but contains records of the different families residing in the village.
A copy of the Chin Family Jiapu for Niu Fu Village, last revised August 2009 was obtained, courtesy of Bernard A. Chin of California. In this Jiapu, the family lineage for William Chinsee (Den Len, #5 son) and for Henry Levy Chin was discovered on page 174. Henry Levy Chin was descended from Den Luen (#2 son). This Jiapu traces the Chin family lineage to progenitor Zhun Kuen, who arrived in Niu Fu circa 1730.
